Das Commodore Amiga Betriebssystem
Vom Amiga Betriebssystem gab es unter Commodore insgesamt drei Generationen: Kickstart 1.x, 2.x und 3.x. Die Zeitspanne für diese Systeme liegt bei 1985 für das erste System beim Amiga 1000, 1990 für Kickstart 2.0 beim Amiga 3000 und 1992 für Kickstart 3.0 beim Amiga 4000. Nach dem Ende von Commodore wurde das System für die Classic Amigas weiterentwickelt. Im folgenden werden einige Screenshots der Amiga Systeme angezeigt.
Kickstart 1.x und die Workbench 1.2 (1986)
Von der ersten Kickstart Generation gab es folgende Versionen: 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 und 1.3. Die Version 1.4 war die Alpha Variante von Kickstart 2.0. Das Amiga Betriebssystem war das Erste für Personalcomputer, welches Befehle über die grafische Oberfläche, oder das eingebaute Command Line Interpreter System, kurz CLI, entgegen nehmen konnte.
Kickstart 2.0 und die Workbench 2.0 (1990)
Kickstart 2.0 hiess 1989 noch Kickstart 1.4. Commodore entschloss sich, durch den gewaltigen Sprung der Software, die Zahl vor dem Punkt zu ändern. Mit der Workbench 2.1, einem reinen Software Update, konnte die Workbench endlich eingedeutscht werden.
Kickstart 3.0 und die Workbench 3.1 (1993)
AmigaOS 3.9 von AMIGA, Inc. (2000)
